(Agencies) There are reports that mobile phones in Spain are automatically deriving calls to Gibraltar on international tariffs that can bring bills up to a reported €2000. The matter has been raised by PP Deputy José Ignacio Landaluce in Madrid but he remains 'unsatisfied' with the answers he has received. According to Landaluce, 'this is happening to users who dial Gibraltar numbers and unwittingly run up enormous bills'. Further, he says that the 'incursion' into Spain by these companies is all too usual. One solution from a user, who says that the signal can reach the underground car park at Mercadona in San García, Algeciras, is to deactivate the roaming facility on one's mobile. Landaluce says he is asking, yet again, for a formal complaint from the Spanish government to that of Gibraltar.
