LA LÍNEA (Agencies) Mayor Alejandro Sánchez (photo: www.lalineadigital.es) said yesterday in a Town Hall statement that he is "open to dialogue" with Madrid and Gibraltar as long as they are "fair". Work on a 'congestion charge' will nevertheless continue in case "we are left with no other alternative." The communiqué also stated that "given the different interpretations that have been given to the objective of the congestion charge to be approved in the next few days, we are using this statement to say that [the congestion charge] was not designed as an end in itself but as a legal and legitimate way to obtain the financial resources to take La Línea forward."
