Caruana halts two technical talks prior to Tripartite Forum meeting

GIBRALTAR/SPAIN (Source: GibChronicle) The headline comes from Europa Sur, and the following text from The Gibraltar Chronicle (never say we're unbalanced here at CampoPulse). Spain’s authority over the actions of the Guardia Civil, if not Madrid’s sincerity in the Tripartite Forum, is coming under increasing question as the aftermath of the September 28 incident in Gibraltar waters (photo by EuropaSur shows Gibraltar officers 'holding a man aboard a  Spanish boat' in the incident thought to have provoked Caruana's decision) has chilled the otherwise positive working relations between Gibraltar and Spain that followed the Cordoba accords. The Chief Minister Peter Caruana announced yesterday that he will be making a Ministerial statement in relation to issues affecting Gibraltar territorial waters on Thursday evening at 8.30 pm to be broadcast on GBC. But technical talks that should have taken place this week in Algeciras and then in Madrid were called off, postponed without date as each side set out its position.
