Cemeteries throughout the Campo de Gibraltar are getting their annual facelift as All Saints Day (November 1) approaches. They usually get a new coat of paint and the flower and plant beds, recovering from a hot summer, a clean up and new plantings. In some cases, like at the San Pablo Cemetery outside Jimena, new building makes for more nichos (photo). Soon we will see family members, usually women, heading to their relatives' spots with the tools to tidy everything up before the big day, which this year is on Monday, and a Bank Holiday.
