Gibraltar's Upper Rock Nature Reserve makes about €3.3 million per year, says the regional newspaper EuropaSur, adding that some 780,000 tourists visited the reserve last year. The article, published at the beginning of the month, comes from the need to point out that a toll is charged to visit the Nature Reserve. The prices: Adult £8.00 (13+ yrs); Child £4.00 (12-5 yrs): Infants aged 0-4years inclusive go FREE; Car: £1.50. These prices include entrance to various places of interest, including St. Michael's Cave, Great Siege Tunnels, City Under Siege Exhibition, Moorish Castle, Apes Den, Mediterranean Steps, World War II Tunnels and the old Jewish Cemetery. However, it will cost you a mere 50p to walk in the area, with access to nothing but fresh air. Not entirely incidentally, the signs with toll charges were removed as a result of La Línea's proposed 'congestion charge', but the charges still stand.
