Cala Sardina could be home to Spain's first six-star hotel

SAN ROQUE (Agencies) Cala Sardina, just beyond Torreguadiaro, could become home to the country's first six-star hotel according to San Roque Mayor Fernando Palma, in an interview Tuesday on the municipal radio station. The prospect is already possible thanks to the current PGOU (Plan General de Ordenación Urbana, or General Zoning Plan, so "it could happen just like that," says Palma, who has meertings recently with representatives of "the company that has had the idea of building  on a small hill with sea views that has had many suitors over the years." Once they purchase the land "they intend to build a six-star hotel, the first in Spain, and a high-end urbanization," adds the Mayor. "It would be a very interesting investment for San Roque not only because of the monies involved but also because of the jobs it would generate. Also de Cala Sardina area would have the project it deserves."
