ALGECIRAS (Agencies/Photo:EuropaSur) The Escuela Politécnica Superior, run by the University of Cádiz, now sports a multimedia language laboratory that can seat 30 students. The idea is that it will be able to optimize the learning of languages, according to the Vice-Rector of the Bahía campus, Diego Trujillo, who announced that the lab will be oprative in good time to be used for the new demands set by the European Bolonia study plans. It also meets the standards required for the university's Centro Superior de Lenguas Modernas programme aimed mainly at students preparing for the Erasmus European grants.>The Nemagic language lab was installed by Roycan Audiosistemas S.A., of Valencia, has an Optima Optimas Premium multimedia system using Internet. The system makes concentration easier and allows for interactive, dynamic lessons.

Similar labs are present at the Faculty of Philosophy and that of Business in Cádiz, in Jerez, Puerto Real and the Professional Occupational Teaching Centre in Jerez. A second lab is being seriously considered for the Faculty of Nursng in Algeciras, according to Trujillo, who is sensitive to the demands being made for language certificates.
