Spaniard is Number 7 on world's richest list

WORLD (Agencies) Amancio Ortega (photo), founder and president of the Inditex fashion conglomerate ( Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Zara Home, Kiddy's Class, Tempe, Stradivarius, Pull and Bear/Often and Bershka with more than 14,000 employees), is the seventh richest person in the world according to Forbes magazine. With a fortune estimated at $31 billion, Ortega climbed up two places on the list, which is headed by Mexican media mogul Carlos Slim. The ever present top two, Bill Gates ($56 billion, but would be on top if he hadn't donated $30billion to his charitable foundation) and Warren Buffet ($50 billion), are numbers 2 and 3 respectively. The world's 1,210 billionaires -a new record- amass 4.5 trillion dolars among them.(Note: A 'billion' is interpreted as 'a thousand million' in the American fashion - but what's a few zeros among friends?)
