Eight of ten highest unemployment rates in Spain are in the province of Cádiz

Ubrique
SPAIN (Agencies) Ubrique is the municipality with more than 5,000 inhabitants that holds the dubious honour of the highest unemployment rate in the entire country. Ubrique's 31.23% compares with Navas de San Juan, in Jaén, with the lowest rate at 2.88%, according to a national study by Caja España-Caja Duero published recently. Among other things, the study also reveals that, of the ten highest unemployment rates among these municipalities, eight of them are in Cádiz:>Barbate (29,06 %), Paterna de Rivera (27,86 %), Vejer de la Frontera (27,38 %), Benalup-Casas Viejas (27,19 %), Medina-Sidonia (27,09 %), Prado del Rey (26,43 %) and Arcos de la Frontera (24,67 %). Other interesting figures to emerge from the study: Cáceres is the largest municipality (1,750 Km2); the smallest is Emperador, in Valencia (0.03Km2); the highest above sea level is La Orotava in Tenerife, at 2,362 m; the highest population density belongs to Mislata in Valencia with 21,258 inhabitants per Km2; and the least populated municipality id Jaramillo Quemado, in Burgos, which contains 0.34 inhabitants per Km2. The municipality with the largest number of foreign residents is San Fulgencio, Alicante, where 77.58% of the populations originates from outside Spain; and on the other end of the scale is Coristnaco, in A Coruña, with only 0.47% of foreign residents. The Report contains updated information of the 8,116 municipalities in Spain, plus that of 264 local action groups, 50 provinces, 376 regions (e.g. Campo de Gibraltar) and 17 Autonomous Regions (e.g. Andalucía). It also contains 8,285,000 statistics.
