Bill Drayton, Chair of Ashoka, the social entrepreneur organization he founded in 1981, has been awarded the 2011 Prince of Asturias Prize for International Cooperation. The jury that selected Drayton from 25 other candidates, said that he was chosen because he 'fundamentally, supports people' and is responsible for the term 'social entrepreneur'. The
Ashoka Foundation began operations in Spain in 2005, where it now operates 25 projects designed by young creative entrepreneurs applying economic sustainable criteria to promote social change.
