UK reiterates its position on Gibraltar

Lidington and Caruana
GIBRALTAR (Agencies) Britain's Minister of State responsible for European issues and NATO, David Lidington, who visited Gibraltar recently, told the House of Commons earlier this week that the Government of the United Kingdom is absolutely committed to British sovereignty over Gibraltar as long as its population it to be so. Lidington added that he had made this clear both in the UK and in Gibraltar. However, even though all parties to the Tripartite Forum, Madrid, London and Gibraltar, keep mentioning the talks, these are apparently stalled, as there is no news on the subject.
