SPAIN (Agencies) The Spanish government is still trying to find out exactly the extent of Muammar Ghadafi's assets in Spain, which has been an ongoing job since the beginning of the Lybian crisis in February. Notorious among the properties he owns are 7,200 hectares that include half the land in Pujerra and a third of that in Júzcar in the Serranía de Ronda. That and other bits and pieces -chunks, in fact- near Benahavis. All these are registered as owned by the Lybian Arab Foreign Bank, itself owned by Lybia's Central Bank. Gadhafi's, in other words, if reports of him and his relatives using the country's central bank as their own, dipping in whenever they chose. A press release from the Foreign Ministry confirms that there is an ongoing deep search for bank accounts owned by the deposed Lybian leader and his family - or 'straw men' opening accounts on their behalf. Another report says that a tiny political party based in San Pedro has requested the Junta de Andalucía to seize the Marbella homes of Gaddafi’s relatives, which are used by his children, as well as the properties they own in Granada, Nerja, Sabinillas, Sevilla and Sotogrande.
