Bomb threat closes frontier

GIBRALTAR/LA LÍNEA At about 11 am on yesterday morning the RGP found an abandoned suitcase at the airport terminal -the old one, not the new- that activated the procedure for a bomb threat. This involved closing the frontier to vehicles and pedestrians until such time as the suitcase had been checked. The case was innocuous, nobody claimed it either, but the flow of traffic across the border was interrupted for over an hour for hundreds of people wanting to cross. The Spanish media says that this is not the first time this happens: every time a forgotten piece of luggage is found, everything comes to a halt.
