Valderrama Golf Club |
ANDALUCÍA / CAMPO DE GIBRALTAR The Junta de Andalucía announced recently that most of the new golf resorts asking for its go-ahead, do not meet the criteria that was established four years ago, including the need to be classified as 'of tourist interest'. Its technical commission has therefore rejected nine such projects on these grounds, but accepted two that do meet the regulations. These are in Jimena de la Frontera - and another CampoPulse item here (to be developed by Bogaris, including almost 600 homes and over 900 tourist apartments) and Castellar de la Frontera (by a Valderrama Estates subsidiary as a complement to the present Valderrama Golf Club, including a more modest 150 homes).>>>
This technical approval is only one step of many that need to get any building under way. The inland resorts that have been rejected for technical reasons are two in the province iof Sevilla; two in Málaga; one in Córdoba; and another in Granada. The coastal resorts being rejected are three in Almería and one in Barbate, Cádiz. The developers still have time to present appeals against the decisions, but the changes made to previous plans and projects can no longer be applied. The only resort project that has managed to obtain the classification de interés turístico since the new requirements were set in 2008, is in Barbate: El Següesal Golf, developed by Bogaris, with 450 homes and over 900 tourist apartments, which was authorized in July 2011.
