GIBRALTAR (Gibraltar Chronicle) Three men have been arrested after the Europe Point shooting incident yesterday. The victim, an off duty GDP officer is in a critical condition. Police said the incident is thought to be an "isolated one". The RGP issued a statement this morning: "Police are investigating an incident at Europa Point which occurred shortly after 16.50hrs on the 15th January 2013 where a 38 year old local man suffered a gun shot wound. The victim was transferred to St Bernard’s Hospital where after initial treatment he was transferred to Hospital Puerta del Mar in Cadiz, Spain, for further specialist treatment.>>>
Following inquiries into the incident officers of the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested three local men aged 32, 34 and 37 respectively. They continue helping police with inquiries.
The area at Europa Point continues to be a crime scene and will remain so for the time being. Given the inquiries conducted so far the information suggests that this is an isolated incident. Police are asking any member of the public who was in the area of Europa Point between the hours of 3pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday the 15 th of January 2013 to contact the Police Control Room on 20072500 as they may be able to assist the investigating officers with valuable information"
