15 arrested in luxury car robbery ring

ALGECIRAS (Agencies) Some 15 people have been arrested by the Guardia Civil in an operation called Bull and carried out in Cádiz and Málaga provinces. The ring, which operated mainly out of the Costa del Sol, allegedly stole luxury vehicles that were later taken to Northern Morocco through the ports of Algeciras, Tarifa and Málaga, and used for drug trafficking. The operation began in March when the GC at Algeciras noticed that many of the drug arrests involved stolen luxury vehicles. There was one thing in common: a GPS sysem that allowed the ringleaders to know exactly where the vehicle was at any given time or place. Principally arrested in the operation are Bulgarians, Moroccans and Spaniards, all divided into 'cells' that operated independently of each other according to nationality, but with close supervision from their bosses and a great deal of expertise. Eight homes were searched, 15 vehicles recovered and all the implements to steal them were also found.
