Former mayor is condemned to seven years of disqualification

LA LÍNEA (Agencies) The former Mayor of La Línea, Juan Carlos Juárez (photo), and former Councillor Carlos Ruiz Calama have been sentenced to seven years and six months of disqualification for public office in the Roseworld corruption case. Calama has also been sentenced to two years in prison for two fiscal crimes, and to payment of over €683,000 in fines. Three present Councillors, Francisco Muñiz, Juan Montero and María de la Cruz Atienza, were absolved. The manager of Roseworld, Anil Thakurdas, was sentenced to four years' disqualification for any corporate or private office.
