CAMPO DE GIBRALTAR (Press release) The Vice-President for Sustainable Development, Fernando Gómez, and technical staff from Arcgisa's Waste Department, had a meeting recently with several of the area's councillors, to whom he unveiled his plans for a new specific waste collection service. The idea is to put out to tender the installation of containers for used domestic oil near public schools, municipal markets and existing or future Punto Limpio recycling centres. For fluorescent lamps or tubes, specific containers would be placed at all schools. The proposal is part of ongoing "improvements to the selective collection services we already offer, such as paper, glass, batteries and so on," said Gómez. The plan also includes a campaign aimed at increasing awareness about the importance to our environment of discarding items that are dangerous.
