Storm causes over 500 incidents in Algeciras

ALGECIRAS (Agencies/Photo: EuropaSur) Three hours worth of heavy rainfall caused some 500 incidents in the municipality. These included flooding in homes, garages and streets, as well as shops and businesses. The area with most trouble was the centre of town although the N-340 and the A-7 roads were flooded in places. The bomberos, Guardia Civil, Policía Local and Protección Civil were all called out at one time or another. The North access to the port was closed to traffic by an accumulation of water and rubble, and an outer wall at the Mediterráneo school collapsed. There are no reports of injuries or any other personal damage. (More great photos by Erasmo Fenoy here.)
