Arengo's Place car park begins work on Tuesday

GIBRALTAR (Govt. press release) A contractor is to commence works for the construction of a new multi-storey car park at Arengo’s Palace as from 8:00am on Tuesday the 5th July 2011. Completion of the new car park is expected to take 15 months. On-street parking will be restricted, however, alternative parking spaces will be provided at the old Police Barracks yard (access via Hospital Hill) and at the ex-mortuary site of the old St. Bernard´s Hospital (access also via Hospital Hill). Access to public/private parking spaces through Arengo’s Lane will be maintained at all times. Appropriate signage for the guidance of drivers will be displayed in the area of the works whenever necessary. The Government would like to take this opportunity to apologise to the general public for any inconvenience caused whilst these parking improvement works are ongoing. (See our earlier item here.)
