Ambulance rides will cost you

MADRID New regulations on health service transport by ambulance indicate that non-emergency transport will cost €5 one way, though this amount remains unfixed as monthly or six-monthly limits are to be set, depending on income or whether the patient suffers a chronic or serious illness. The costs will apply to all regional health services throughout the country and mainly to non-emergency cases, that is, those who are able to transport themselves, or by friends and/or relatives to the nearest hospital or health centre. (A more detailed article on this subject, and many more, will soon be available on SpainInformer.com)
