In La Línea, the Muñoz Molleda Music Conservatory building, under renovation until four months ago and handed over to the Council by the builders, has been unable to hold classes because the roof is leaking heavily and water appeared from under the floor over the Christmas holidays. The builders say nothing can be done until it stops raining. The roof of the Inmaculada primary school is also springing leaks. Various other public buildings, streets and roads were also flooded yesterday.
Guadacorte had its usual problems: floods on Calle Oropéndola and in the El Bosque urbanization, where neighbours got together to hire a pump to get rid of the expected overflow of the river there. The Town Hall has said that a ditch has been dug to allow the water to drain off, but the residents are unhappy with this 'eternal situation'.
