Recalls for cars are all the rage right now - we haven't mentioned them because they're all over the media. However, bucking the trend in a different direction (and knowing we have several motorcycle fans among our readers), Harley-Davidson issued a recall on Monday for eleven of their models (see below) because of a fault on their fuel tank mountings which could rupture on impact, according to Spain's consumer organization FACUA-Consumidores en Acción. This is the fourth recall affecting motorcycles so far this year, following those for Yamaha YBR250, Peugeot Satelis and Buell XB12SS. The Harley models involved are>
FLHT, FLHTCU, FLHRC, FLHX, FLHTP, FLHP, FLHTCUSE4, FLTRSE3, FLHTK, FLHTCUSE5 and FLHXSE, the fuel tank mountings of which are apparently susceptible to being deformed in a frontal collision, causing a rupture and a fuel leak through the soldering, which in turn could cause ignition and a fire in an accident.

Curiously, the Harley-Davidson Spain website makes no mention of the recall as we post this item.
