JIMENA (Agencies) Members of the Guardia Civil unit in Jimena saw the Citroen Berlingo looking very sunken at the rear. As they were preparing to stop the vehicle, it swerved to the left and tried to run away. A few meters down the road (the A-405, within the municipality) they managed to stop without too much difficulty. In the rear were 16 iron manhole covers that the driver said he had found at an abandoned construction site. C. G. B., 19 and from Jimena, has a long history of petty crime. He was taken into custody under suspicion of theft and will be 'at the disposal of the court' on Monday.
