92 year old drug smuggler arrested at Madrid airport
A 92-year-old woman was arrested recently at Madrid's Barajas International Airport after officers found more than four kilos of cocaine attached to her body. The arrest took place after the woman, in a wheelchair, and a much younger female companion arrived aboard a flight from Brazil with a connection for a flight to Tenerife. It was the older woman's behaviour that aroused customs agents' suspicions. Her younger companion bolted as soon as they were called over for an inspection, according to reports, but the 92-year-old was found to have several packages -amounting to over 4 kilos of cocaine- taped to her body. The companion was later arrested in another part of the airprot and both have been charged with possession and intent to sell. (Photo: illustration only.)
