Court secretaries to stage half hour strikes indefinitely

SPAIN
(Photo of Algeciras Courts: Andalucía Información) As though the judicial system in Spain were not slow enough, the Association of Professional Court Secretaries (APSJ in its Spanish acronym) has announced that they will be carrying out stoppages of half an hour in all courts in the country at 10am. They are seeking pay parity with prosecution attorneys and better pension payments. The decision is expected to severely affect already snail paced court procedures, though the association says that 'if a procedure is in process in court, stoppage will wait for it to finish' and 'minimal services' and 'duty rotas' will not be affected.
