Massive U2 stage set is shipped from Algeciras to New Zealand

ALGECIRAS Part of the massive stage set for U2's 360 Tour, known as The Claw, was shipped to Australia for the next leg after the concert in Sevilla on September 30, postponed from the day before, the general strike. As is usual with such things, we're told by a former roadie, what probably happened is that a separate set (there are two complete sets, plus lighting and sound equipment) skips over the last concerts -Coimbra in Portugal on October 3 and then Rome on the 8th- and heads to the next scheduled one: Auckland, New Zealand. Why are we telling you this? Because the 1.5 tons of metal was shipped from the port of Algeciras. Overall cost of the set loaded locally is a mere $1.8  million. Another section of the set went from Valencia. Just thought you'd like to know.
