IU asks why the private hospital project was 'filed'

LA LÍNEA (Agencies) In a press release, Izquierda Unida asked earlier this week why a project for a private hospital to be built on municipal gardens (photo), which had been announced with much fanfare by the Ayuntamiento, had been 'filed' (in Spanish, this means 'case closed' or cancelled = carpetazo). IU says that the committee decided unanimously against the project 'for lack of financial solvency of the company making the request [for permission]' and it should not now keep quiet but rather 'explain the reasons behind the decision.' This is the second project for the same area. 'There was another one for a catering school that we heard nothing more about after announcing it with all the fanfare that is customarily used by this government, which is an expert in the sale of smoke,' said the opposition party.
