Local Police file 41 cases of truancy in ten days

LA LÍNEA (Agencies / Image: 'And afterwards, What?))The Local Police's new Tutoring Unit, which works in conjunction with Social Services, has carried out 210 proceedings in the last ten days, of which 41 refer to truancy. Of these, 16 are denuncias against minors who, being under the age of 16, are obliged to attend school. The remainder are against infringements of various applications of the law.The police pointed out that, although the requirement for registration (matriculación) is met, the children to not attend school, which means that their places cannot be taken up by others who may be more interested in learning but who can't go to that particular school for lack of a vacancy.
