There was more than a lot of tomatoes in this load

ALGECIRAS (Agencies/Photo: Guardia Civil) A popular Spanish saying, and the name of a now (rightly) defunct TV programme, is 'Aquí hay tomate'. It means, roughly, that there is something hidden here. And so there was. The Guardia Civil caught two and a half tons of hash in a load of tomatoes at the port last week. The lorry came from Morocco on the regular ferry. The hash was carefully wrapped and distributed among the tomatoes, disguised as the tomatoes it said on the manifest. There were 12,564 individually wrapped packets of hash, for which both drivers of the truck, from Seville, are now 'at the disposal of the courts'.
