USP hopes to open its new private hospital by the end of the year

LOS BARRIOS (Agencies) The USP Hospitals group will begin to operate its Hospital USP la Bahía towards the end of the year, according to the private medical centre's manager, Carlos de Sola Earle, on a recent visit to the Arttysur Businesss Centre where the hospital is being built. He pointed out also that the medical facility is listed with all major insurance companies and there are numerous agreements being negotiated with several mutual insurance companies' health plans. The plans are for the facilities to be 'open', which means that physicians can book and use such services as operating theatres, among others. The 60-bed hospital will offer such specialties as ICUs, paediatrics, CAT scan diagnosis, magnetic resonance, mammographies, X-rays and endoscopy, as well as physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities. "It will be a complete hospital," said De Sola, who added that it will generate 115 direct jobs, plus those in ancillary, outside services and supplies.
