Tourist occupancy rates forecasts an average of 62% over Eastewr holidays

CAMPO DE GIBRALTAR The tourist season traditionally begins over the Easter holidays, or Semana Santa, and this is when the industry begins to keep track of how it is doing. Forecasts for the Campo this year by the Federación Empresarial de Hostelería de la Provincia de Cádiz (Horeca) expect an average occupation rate of 62% over the week, with the heaviest occupation on the second weekend, after Good Friday. The industry federation takes into account reservations in Tarifa, La Línea and Algeciras, which is a somewhat distorted view, as it doesn't take into account such places as Sotogrande, a tourist resort of importance. According to Horeca, Tarifa (photo) has the most 'pull' inasmuch as it is expected to start the week with 75.99% occupancy rising to 86.96% on the second weekend. This compared to the real figures for last year of 81.80%.
