Urban Discipline department filed 252 complaints in a year

LA LÍNEA (Agencies) The Department of Urban Discipline filed a total of 252 complaints against owners of properties during 2010. Most of them were for neglect or disrepair to properties in the centre of town, including items like peeling paint to dangerous house fronts, from collapsed walls or roofs to abandoned spaces full of weeds and rats. In some cases the complaints are only warnings that repairs need to be carried out, in others, the complaints were accompanied by a fine because the owners had been warned several times beforehand. Another, separate area de department works on is finding and fining illegal building work for which permission has not been obtained, or that exceed the limits set by the municipal licences.
