ALGECIRAS We've heard this before: the Art School needs a lot of work; the Art School will be renovated soon: etc. etc. We've written about it often and do so again. According to the head of the teaching department at the School, José Antonio Pérez Sequeiros, the provincial delegate for Education, Blanca Alcántara, has told him that work will begin this summer, in either August or September. The school's head, Jaime Coriat, also had a meeting in Cadiz that included the sub-delegate for the Campo de Gibraltar. Coriat and several members of the school council emerged from the meeting 'reasonably satisfied' that the original investment provision of over €200,000 is safe. Let's see what happens now... The Escuela de Arte is piece of architecture that has won several international prizes and, despite the neglect it has suffered since it was built in 1971, still produces some outstanding students and work.
