YouTube, the video and music site, today launched YouTube Movies. Now part of the Google empire, YouTube is at present offering some 400 free films. We noticed a plethora (i.e. too many?) of the Bollywood and Jackie Chan-type films, but the conmpany expects the choice to grow exponentially. Naturally these will not be new releases, though these could appear later, at a premium cost. Google is negotiating with the principal distributors and/or producers, such as Sony, for this purpose.
