'Grandparents: don't take care of your grandchildren on General Strike day'

ANDALUCÍA In one of the most ridiculous statements coming from the left wing of the Spanish political spectrum on the General Strike scheduled for September 29, Wednesday week, the Secretary General of Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT), Manuel Pastrana (photo), on Thursday asked all sectors to back the strike "because the labour reform affects all of society." But he expressly asked grandparents not to take care of their grandchildren on that day, either. "September 29 must be a day of no consumerism no transport, no public services, a day on which the million unemployed of Andalucía show their face. And one that should be attended by the grandparents who that day don't take care of their grandchildren because they are fundamental to the working sof the country," said Pastrana.
