Legionaires Disease outbreak in Madrid, three dead

MADRID (Agencies/Image ABC) An outbreak of Legionaires Disease, called legionela or legionelosis in Spain, that has caused three deaths in the city and which apparently began a couple of weeks ago, yesterday lead to the closure of two major infection sources: refrigeration towers belonging to restaurants. Other focuses include one at the Gregorio Marañón Hospital, as well as at the TVE headquarters at Torrespaña and a naval establishment, all of which have been dealt with. So far the infection has caused 40 people infected, of which three have died, 13 are still in hospital, 20 have been released from hospital, and 4 needed no hospitalization.
