Cars stolen in France, Belgium and Germany recovered in Tarifa port

TARIFA (Agencies) The Guardia Civil unit at the port recovered six stolen vehicles as they were about to embark for Morocco, and rrested four people involved. A special operation took place from February 8 to 10, aimed at controlling vehicles using the Tarifa-Tangier fast ferry, Morocco being a favourite sales point. Computer investigation revealed that the first two vehicles, a Mitsubishi Pajero and a Mitsubisho L-200 (photo, illustration only) had been stolen in France and had false number plates. The latter, a pick-up, was carrying two motorbikes that had not been returned to their rental company. Other vehicles recovered in the operation included a Renault Scenic, stolen in Germany, and a BMW X5, from Belgium, both of which had had their chassis registration altered.
