LA LINEA (DiscoverCadiz.com) There is no signed pact between Prodean and La Línea town hall but the animal welfare charity, based in Cadiz, has the use of the former municipal pound now the local authority can no longer offer the service. Prodean has asked for the support of residents of the Campo de Gibraltar as it currently has 540 dogs needing homes. Last year the association received between 18,0000 to 20,000 euros in donations from Holland. One hundred dogs are also sent to other European countries but this is not sufficient to empty the kennels. Britons have been blamed for much of the situation as it is claimed they have left the area to return home largely for financial reasons and left their pets behind them. The number of horses and cows referred to Prodean has also shown a sharp increase with 45 horses abandoned on one piece of land alone.
