Historic Memory forums from all over Spain gather in Jimena

JIMENA (Photo: TioJimeno) The annual assembly of the Federación de Foros por la Memoria gathered in Jimena over the weekend to discuss new study projects, more digs and the opening of common graves in several parts of the country. Discussed also was the federation's position regarding Judge Baltasar Garzón's having filed a complaint against Spain's Supreme Court at the European Court of Human Rights. That plus a workshop on the use of mass media and, to end it, a field workshop at La Sauceda, where a researcher discussed the way of life of the people of the area in the 1930s and '40s, and why that area became an important centre of resistance to Fascism.
