Banks raise debit card charges by 7%, charges by 3%

SPAIN (Agencies) Spanish banks have raised their charges for debit cards by an average of 7% as from March, while credit cards go up by 3%. If you renewed your card last month, or took out a new one, you will be charged about €17.93 and €34,39 per year, respectively and also an average. Many banks exempt their of these charges when payrolls are paid into their accounts, or other products, such as pension plans and direct debits, are taken up by the client. Neither do these averages apply to 'gold', 'platinum' 'affiliation' or toll cards, which have other sets of charges.  The present restructuring of the banking sector has also resulted in many entities getting together for services offered in common, such as cash machine charges, which plenty no longer make. Current accounts> are also being charged more. The average annual payment has gone up by 3% for these, as have charges for loan commissions. The charge for merely studying a mortgage operation now averages €107.24, while the acceptance of a mortgage is over the €600 mark. Red numbers, or overdrafts, bear a commission of €12.05 as from last month, too, compared to €11.34 last year.
