Woman rescued after falling down cliff

TARIFA/Atlanterra (Agencies) A 50 year old woman was rescued from the cliffs above Playa de los Alemanes at Atlanterra in the early hours of Sunday morning. She had been out for a walk with a friend when she lost her footing and fell several meters down the cliff, breaking her leg. The call came in to the Consorcio de Bomberos, who sent out units from Tarifa and Algeciras. The woman was conscious, sitting on a rock waiting for them, although the rescue teams had to use ropes, pulleys, anchorage and so on to get her up the steep 15 metres to the ambulance, which took her to the hospital.
