JIMENA A man was arrested on Monday and is charged with domestic violence. The incident occurred around midday on Monday, according to witnesses. The couple, of Romanian origin, have been known to have frequent shouting matches, heard loudly by their neighbours on Calle San Sebastián. This time, however, things evidently got out of hand, for the woman, who was seen lying bleeding on the floor, was taken to hospital by ambulance and the man driven away in the back of a Guardia Civil vehicle. There is as yet no official notification of the incident, so we have no notice of the woman's condition or confirmation of the incident from the police. UPDATE: The woman is back in Jimena today, and, according to our sources, it seems she is not pressing charges.
