(Photo: EuropaSur) Work is proceeding apace on Gibraltar's new terminal building and its adjacent facilities, according to Europa Sur, as can be seen from either side of the frontier. Heavy drilling machinery (photo) moved in to begin work on a tunnel under the runway. Government expects work to be completed by the end of this year, according to the Campo's 'newspaper of reference'. The Gibraltar Chronicle, on the other hand, reports, "The new road to frontier via a tunnel under the runway should be completed by July next year at a cost of £36.7m. The cost of the tunnel itself is just over £13.3m. Details of the cost of the project and scheduled completion dates were revealed by Chief Minister Peter Caruana in response to Opposition questions in Parliament last week."
