Campo hotel occupancy averages 62% in July

Hotel occupancy in the Campo de Gibraltar reached 62% during July, according to Horeca, the Federación Provincial de Empresarios de Hostelería de Cádiz, which is expecting 70% occupancy in August. The summer holiday hot spots in the Campo are centred in the municipalities of San Roque, with Sotogrande as the rallying point, and Tarifa (photo), where occupancy was just over 80%. At the other end of the scale, occupancy in Algeciras was only 51%. All figures are below last year's but the federation says that they have noticed a decrease in 'seasonality', a description of the year's occupancy concentration during July and August.
