GIBRALTAR - Gibraltar Chronicle The RGP wishes to warn shop owners and the public of a recent increase of counterfeit bank notes in circulation. During the last couple of weeks there has been a number of counterfeit Government of Gibraltar £10 notes, both the old and new denomination, used in different local shops. The RGP advises the general public to double check any notes handed over in transaction and to look at the paper quality, metallic security thread and the watermark. If any person suspects that they have been given a fake bank note, they are to seize it and hand it over to the RGP for investigation. The RGP wishes to remind the public that it is a criminal offence to hold or pass on a note knowing it to be counterfeit.
