Five arrested for burglary at Atlanterra holiday homes

TARIFA (Agencies) Guardia Civil units from the Torreplata company in Tarifa arrested five people last week, including a minor, for allegedly breaking and entering homes at the Atlanterra urbanization in Zahara de los Atunes (photo). The houses were all holiday homes used mainly in the summer. The gang concentrated on stealing items such as computers and televisions that are sold easily on the black market. After receiving numerous reports of thefts in the area, the GC mounted an operation during which the alleged burglars were caught red handed when their car was intercepted in the early hours as it was leaving the urbanization. Inside were found found three flat screen TVs, a portable DVD, one TDT box, 2 watches and all the tools of the trade. The alleged perpetrators are now 'at the disposal of the courts'.
