Carer arrested for mistreating bed-ridden patient

LA LINEA (Video: illustration only/WARNING: Could be very distressing) A 26 year old woman was arrested earlier this week for abuse against a bed-ridden patient suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. The case came to light when the 74 year old patient's adult children noticed that she was unusually fearful and presented bruises in various parts of her>
body. The carer had beeen assigned to the case a month ago by a company contracted by the Junta de Andalucía under the Ley de Dependencia (Dependence Law) and she was soon under suspicion, so the relatives installed a camera in their mother's bedroom. The resulting video showed that the woman had been continually subjected to pushing, pulling and even having dirty water thrown at her. The patient was taken to hospital and the carer to court.
