ZARAGOZA (Agencies) Further to our item yesterday on a convent being robbed of €1.5million, the nuns' lawyer now says that the amount stolen from a closet was €400,000, not the amount originally mentioned. The perpetrator(s) went straight to the room where the wardrobe containing the money was, and did not force any other doors. So says the attorney for the Santa Lucía sisters, Jesús García Huici, who added that the robbery has caused 'great consternation' in the community of 16 nuns, many of whom are very elderly and need constant attention. It appears that the burglary happened on Sunday, February 27, when the cloistered convent opens to admit parishioners to Mass at the church inside the otherwise locked gates. When they were closed again, the nuns carried on their normal Sunday routine, so it was not until the following day that the robbery was discovered.
