Mary Anne Goossens, 48, was rescued on Wednesday, having survived for 18 days in a pit at the bottom of a ravine by the Chillar River, in Nerja, Málaga. She took nothing but water and covered herself with branches against the cold nights, say her friends. Goossens was taken by helicopter to the Axarquía Hospital in Vélez-Málaga, where she was joined by her children Fritz and Jantje Korten, who found her 'happy, in good humour and wanting to return to her native Holland as soon as.possible,'
according to local sources. Family spokesperson Antonio Díaz, told reporters that she put leaves and branches in her clothing for protection at night, slept under a rock, and was carrying a whistle to announce her presence, which made the rescue that much quicker. She left hospital on Thursday.>>>
